Troop Leaders/Co-leaders

What?

Girl Scouts of Santiam Council serves girls ages 5-17 in Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, and Lincoln counties. We are currently looking for women or men who are intersted in being a troop leader/co-leader for any age level.

Ages levels are as follows: Daisy Girl Scouts: Kindergarten Brownie Girl Scouts: 1st-3rd grades Junior Girl Scouts: 4th-6th grades Older Girl Scouts: 7th-12th grades

Average weekly time commitment is 2.5 hours.

Girl Scout Beyond Bars Mentor/Driver

What?

Girl Scouts of Santiam Council is looking for women or men who would be interested in helping girls ages 5-17 who have incarcerated female family members (mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, etc) reconnect with that family member. Two times per month we transport girls from the council area (Benton, Linn, Polk, Marion, Yamhill, and Lincoln Counties) to Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF) in Wilsonville to do Girl Scout Programming with the incarcerated female. We are looking for volunteers to help with the transportation of the girls to and from the prison one to two times per month. Volunteers also have the opportunity to enter CCCF and help lead the program activities with the girls and CCCF residents. The troop meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 8:45-11:30 AM in Wilsonville.

What?

Girl Scouts of Santiam Council is looking for women who are interested in working with at risk teen girls in a local middle school or high school. The volunteer/intern would co-lead a weekly group of 8-12 girls working on decision making skills surrounding drug prevention, increasing self esteem, teen pregnancy prevention, healthy living, healthy relationships, and much more.

Elder Help Volunteer

What?

Come be matched with a frail senior who is living in their own home. You could spend a few hours a week providing: Companionship Help with shopping and errands Reading Opening mail and helping with correpsondence Household tasks and yard help

Most of all, you will be able to become a friend to a senior who is often isolated.

Volunteers go through training, undergo a criminal record and driving record check along with a Defensive Driving 2 hour course. Volunteers need to be age 21 or older.
