Citizen Review Board (CRB) of Lane County is looking for volunteers to serve the children, youth, and families in the foster care system. CRB volunteers are appointed by the Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court. CRB volunteers meet one weekday per month to provide the case review and oversight of children and youth in state custody and out of home placements (foster care).
Volunteers work to promote conditions which ensure that every child lives in a safe, secure, healthy, permanent home and preserving families whenever possible. Volunteers may also review the case plans of youth in the custody of the Oregon Youth Authority, focusing on issues surrounding youth reformation and public safety. CRB volunteers advocate for effective child welfare policies and practice which support healthy children and families. A stipend is available for expenses related to volunteering (mileage, meals, daycare, etc.) for those who meet eligibility requirements.
If you would like to become a CRB volunteer, please contact Marisa Mendoza, Lane County CRB Field Manager, at (541) 686-7853. Applications are also available on-line at www.ojd.state.or.us/crb.
